The Aruba Fair Trade Authority (AFTA) will be granted regulatory authority this year to oversee compliance with consumer legislation in Aruba. This means that AFTA will play a key role in protecting consumer rights and enforcing regulations that require businesses to operate fairly and transparently. AFTA will also educate consumers and businesses about consumer rights and regulatory oversight.
In recognition of World Consumer Rights Day, AFTA is organizing an information session to inform businesses, consumers, and other stakeholders about this significant development. During this event, experts from various fields will share their insights and discuss real-life examples. The goal is to raise awareness and provide a deeper understanding of how this new authority will impact consumers and businesses in Aruba. Additionally, the session offers a valuable opportunity for open discussions and to better understand the concerns and perspectives of all parties involved.
Topics covered under existing consumer legislation include:
Please note: Financial services/products, healthcare, and matters such as product and food safety will not fall under AFTA’s supervision.
